"Thankful Thursdays": Through Thick and Thin

Hudson TRULY understands me…

So it’s been almost a week since my last post.  My apologies.  I’m currently in the busiest season at work (with the graduation of one class of medical students and the orientation of another), and unfortunately being able to blog was not all that feasible.

Luckily, things are starting to slow down enough for me to do this week’s installment of’ “Thankful Thursdays”.  But it will be short and sweet, as my mental capabilities have been all but shot this week (again, due to work).

So here we go.

Alas, a fairly rare family photo…living so far away…

Even if you are unfamiliar with the individuals surrounding me in the photo above, you can probably guess that this is a photo of my family.  Or not…some people say we look alike, others say we don’t.

Together, we have survived and pulled through some very difficult and dramatic times – things I would rather not go into in this blog (maybe in the future…when I’m ready to spill in this somewhat more public setting).  Perhaps that is why we’ve all learned to become both self-reliant and supportive of one another.  Or maybe we were just raised that way.  I guess a combination of both.

Despite everything that has gone on in this family, we are still family – and a fairly close-knit one at that.  I’ve never really believed that we were all that close because both lack of proximity and direct communication more often than not would make you think otherwise.  But we still consider one another as the people we know we can always rely on…and will always be there to provide assistance when no one else is there to help (whether physical, financial, emotional, etc).

I guess “close knit” truly is defined differently from one family to the next.

So this week, I want to take a moment to give thanks for my family…some of the most important people in my life.

Here are a few snapshots of how much a goofball family we are.  Wouldn’t want it any other way!

My dad…your typical loving, goofy Korean father.  ❤
My mom…I’m much more like her than I ever imagined…
Left to right…oldest to youngest…don’t let height fool you!
Sisters…goofballs galore!  ;-D
We call this our “Movie Poster” shot
Baby Brudders…they will always be “babies” to me!  ❤
