Dress – Tommy Hilfiger Pleated Front Navy Shirtdress (similar); Belt – borrowed from a dress purchased at Zulily.com (similar); Shoes – G.H. Bass & Co. Outlet Taupe Flats (old); Necklace – New York & Company (no longer in stock); Watch – Anne Klein White Ceramic Diamond Watch (from Macy’s)
This shirtdress has been hanging in the depths of my closet, ignored but not forgotten. The reason I had been ignoring it is that the dress intimidated me…for two reasons – A) it isn’t as fitted as I would like, and B) I thought it would look like a frumpy old sack on me. So it was easier to simply ignore it.
So the night before, I pulled it out of the recesses of my closet and hung it up front and center. I went to bed thinking about this outfit, and how I would fashion my outfit similarly (but without the scarf, since it’s getting a bit warmer again). In the morning, I fearlessly pulled the dress out of the closet, and put it on…adding a necklace…belt…and flats…
I feel I need to apologize to my shirtdress…while it may not be “fitted” as I thought I wanted it to be, it definitely does NOT look like an old sack on me. In fact…it looks…really nice! I even receive a couple compliments today at work…apparently, it’s just the right amount of professional and “cute.”
