"Letters from Lydia": A Look Back on August…

Thank GOD it’s over!!  ZZZZZ!!

As far as months go, August 2013 has to be one of the toughest I have experienced in my adult lifetime.  Between work (in all of it’s curricular revision glory), the shopping hiatus (no retail therapy), and the stress associated with the waiting for fellowship interviews (and they’re not even MY interviews!), it’s been a tough month.  I can honestly say that I’m glad that one’s over and we can now move on into a fresh month and (we’re starting to feel it) a fresh new season.

That’s right, folks…Michigan fall weather is at hand!

While the temperatures are no different from most of what we experienced this summer (low 70s to low 80s for a majority of the past 3 months), there is a distinct chill and fragrance in the air that whispers of the start of autumn.  I’m not saying I’m anticipating in ANY way the bitter cold of another Michigan winter to follow…but I am looking forward to wearing layers and my knee-high boots again.  It’s the small pleasures of life that makes it worth living, sometimes.

Here are some of the fun things that helped us get through August…

Spending time outside with these two…love them!
Movie Nights at home
Paintball…we are a force to be reckoned with…
Golf outing
More run-ins with Spartan greatness
Hope you all have a wonderful September!
